The Elephant Homes peer support group has been a lifeline, a self-growth stimulator and a source of comfort.   At a time when I was vulnerable, living far away from my family due to domestic abuse {relocated for safety} the peer group was my friendship, support and belonging.

We have laughed and cried, talked about frivolous things and serious topics, and always I have felt met with care and support. Nothing is off the agenda and nothing is forced. Knowing that my other peer’s have a shared experience allows us to talk in a way that I cannot with my everyday friends. This shared language and outlet is so important.

Through the support group I have gradually learned my own value, found my voice and realised my own strength and potential. My life has moved forwards positively and the peer group played such a large part in that. Thank you
